FAQ

What is dumbass government? Good question! Dumbass government is any action by a branch of city, state, or nation which stems from one or more people of subpar intelligence being given undeserved authority. It can be actions which benefit another nation at the expense of our own, actions which benefit criminals and corporations at the expense of everyday citizens, abuse of authority by law enforcement or the justice system, frivolous wastes of taxpayer money, or two or more actions which are incompatible with each other.

Do you hate all government? Of course not. We aren’t anarchists. We just expect the same level of quality from government as from the brands we purchase.

Is government inherently “dumbass”? No. Government is a monopoly which makes it easier to get away with stupidity than an environment of competition such as the free market. The good news is we still have a say in that government. Most of us just don’t use it. This site is here to help you do your part to stop dumbass government.

Do you have a partisan bias? Absolutely not! It’s kind of sad that in America, all the diverse ideologies represented by the populace are boiled down to one and a half political parties. If anything, this site seeks to alert you to the fact that the difference between the Democrat and Republican parties is largely illusory and both are capable of immense stupidity. If we are biased, it’s toward logic, not ideology.

How do I submit a story? Just go to Submissions and Suggestions, enter your name and e-mail, and a link to the story. Multiple links are ok. If you don’t want to be named, type “anonymous” for your name.

Will my story be posted? Maybe. It has to be considered sufficiently of interest. If it’s a story about the government not buying the absolute cheapest widget in a bid competition, or the off-duty misadventures of someone very low down on the totem pole, then chances are it won’t be posted.

What are acceptable sources? We like major news sites, local news, and reputable blogs. NO conspiracy theory sites. NO sites of extreme left or right wing bias.

What if I have a suggestion or feedback? Please write in and tell us! Either use Submissions and Suggestions or email us directly.
